Brainfood Community MVPs empower members of the D.C. community to be educated eaters, one workshop at a time. The eight-month MVP program teaches high schoolers to develop and facilitate hands-on cooking classes. KCDC collaborated with Brainfood to bake easy-to-make vegan cookies.
Avocado is a great substitute for eggs, butter, sour cream, and other dairy products.
Or, y’know, guacamole.

Heidi Zheng is a student at the University of Rochester, where she majors in religious studies and prepares for her certificate in literary translation. A woman of letters in the making, she is utterly smitten with words, and kittens. And mittens. But mostly, words.
