Meet Sam Huang

We are in the full swing of things here at KCDC! We have already had some great classes and continue to look forward to those to come! With the next week of classes already open for registration, we wanted to take a moment to get to know KCDC teacher Sam Huang: restaurateur by day, pencil artist by night. He will be teaching Still Life Drawing, With Just a No. 2 Pencil this coming week.

How did you find out about Knowledge Commons DC?

Through Stacey (one of the central organizers of KCDC)

What inspired you to teach for this session?

I am inspired by teaching people how to depict what they see, and express their creativity.

What are you most looking forward to for your class?

I look forward to meeting the participants and sharing the experience.

What do you think makes for a good teacher?

A good teacher is one who can understand how each student receives the lesson and information being taught.  We all learn differently and a good teacher should be able to communicate the lessons in a manner undetstood by all.

If you could take a free class in anything taught by anyone what would
it be?

How to stretch a canvas

Lastly, what is your day job?

My day job is a restaurateur

Sam will be teaching his class this Wednesday, May 8th at 6:30 PM. To learn more, visit the class description page here. Onward and upward!
