A Picnic and a Very Special Anniversary

On a bright, sunny, and warm Saturday Knowledge Commons rang in its 2nd birthday/anniversary. Open to all teachers, students, and DOJO members our picnic celebration was had in one of DC’s hidden park treasures Crispus Attuks Park. The occasion was marked with a delicious funfetti cake, and of course there was the opportunity to learn something new - croquet! The turnout, weather, and food was more than palatable; we were delighted to commemorate our 2nd year with our good friends in tow. There was also some filmmaking, our friends Banished? Productions were busy working on a Kickstarter video during the picnic. Look out for their campaign and video to see some familar faces making their acting debuts!

Erika Rydberg, a D.C. transplant from the northernly lands of Boston, got involved with Knowledge Commons DC after an awesome experience in a Brookline, Mass., community skillshare during her college days. By day she works at a library and by night she can be found performing poetry, listening to music, or cooking copious amounts of vegetarian food.
