Abandoned Buildings Walking Tour 3: Rotting Embassies and Defunct Countries

date Saturday, 8 September 2012 time 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Past

Often thought as permanent foreign outposts, even embassies aren’t immune to growing pains and moving trucks. On this tour, we’ll visit where diplomats once lived and worked until growth, rent, a change in style, or even the dissolution of the nation they once represented forced them to move. Some have been left empty (and hopefully will have tags fittingly scrawled on their once immaculate walls), while others have been converted to modern offices, apartments, and stately homes. Come explore the forgotten history of embassies past.
