Advertising, the Uneasy Persuasion

date Thursday, 3 January 2013 time 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

👤 Micah Greenberg 🏢 Above the Bike Shop

Past

Advertising is a lot of (cigar) smoke and mirrors. This course will outline the history of America’s slickest trade, the concepts that guide it, and the experience of building your own campaign. For the sake of simplicity — and a welcome respite — we’ll eschew the banners, fly-ins, and camera tricks of modern advertising in favor of the classic print campaign. You’ll leave with a grasp of the basics: profiling target audiences, identifying a unique voice, concepting a cohesive campaign, and executing it effectively.
