You have dating profiles in three different apps. You uploaded the best pictures of yourself. You go out on dates regularly. But are you really ready to “date”?
You’ll learn the story of two locals who swiped right, and together we’ll explore how taking dating more lightly might change our experiences; rather than a stressful chore in pursuit of “the one,” dating can simply be a pleasant way to spend time with new people.
“Easier said than done,” you may say. True! Even so, we hope you’ll benefit from a discussion of issues such as who to date, what should be important to chat about on the first date, and how to follow up so that one date might turn into many.

Ileana Galvan and Michael Ferrari are two open-minded D.C. transplants who met after they both swiped right on Bumble.
Ileana is a lively Mexican-American. She is fascinated by human behavior and makes sense of rules and regulations for a living. Ileana never thought that she would be in D.C. for this long, but after 4 years she started to embrace the metro area as home.
Mike is a Bostonian who has been living in D.C. for a couple years. He likes to keep himself moving by playing soccer and basketball, and he pays his bills as a software developer.
