Part of good diabetes management is taking care of your feet. Neglecting them can lead to severe, difficult-to-treat foot sores, which in turn can lead to amputation. Poor circulation and other medical problems can also cause, or hinder the healing of, foot wounds.
Learn to avoid such dire consequences from Brandy Schobey, an R.N. who specializes in treating foot ulcers and preventing amputations. She’ll cover:
- How and why lower extremity amputations happen;
- Easy things you can do every day to prevent this from occurring;
- Warning signs or symptoms that indicate a risk of developing a foot ulcer;
- What to do if you are at risk, or have non- healing foot wounds;
- Basic wound care dos and don’ts.
