Basic Vegan Baking: Breads
In this course for beginners, we’ll enjoy some simple breads made without animal products and prepare a vegan version of naan, a traditional Indian flatbread. In the process, you’ll learn basic bread chemistry in order to understand how each ingredient affects the final product and how this can help amateur bakers find substitutes for non-vegan ingredients. We’ll also explore the reasoning behind the vegan diet, from the ethical to the political to the practical. Students will take home recipes, as well as tips, tricks, and encouragement for embarking on baking.
