This course will highlight some major cultural differences in how Hearing and Deaf people communicate. We’ll cover social conventions such as eye contact, personal space and touch; use of light and sound; simple things we can do to make public settings more accessible to Deaf people; and some frequently wondered, but not always asked, questions about Deaf life. The class will be presented in English with some ASL (American Sign Language) elements.
