[ ] Box Collective
What does it take to develop an idea, a vision into a project? How can we respond to the social disparity within the DC metropolitan area? The Box Collective (www.boxcollective.org) is working to promote community development through repurposing recycled cargo containers to activate vacant lots and bring positive change to neighborhoods throughout Washington, DC. The group is composed of designers, artists and social activists who collaborate with local community groups in effort to make this vision a reality.
The class/presentation will be discussing the efforts by Box Collective, the proposed design and where they are planning to be over the next few months. You may want to participate in this class/presentation if: you have an interest in local community oriented work, architecture/design/art, and grassroots approaches to development
