A Creative Process on Creative Processes: Synthesis
In this three-part writing workshop, we’ll explore our personal creative processes. Each workshop will begin with an activity as a writing prompt. The first will relate to construction; the second, deconstruction; and the third, synthesis. Following the activity we will take about 20 minutes to write about a creative process from our past.
Synthesis: Synthesis is an emergent process. From the beginning an idea might not be clear, but through time a kind of pattern or a conclusion (that might lead to another one) emerges.
Activity: We will take a walk during which you’ll pay particular attention to one element of the streetscape — for example, wheat-paste posters, barbed-wire fences, or old signage. After the walk we will move to a warm place and write with mulled drinks.
You’re welcome to attend this meeting even if you did not attend the prior two.
