date Sunday, 6 January 2013 time 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Past

We live in a globalized world where political and social unrest has become the norm. We can join more movements and support more causes than ever before. In this climate, design has become a valuable catalyst for change — think of the Obama “HOPE” posters, the visual vernacular for the Occupy movement, and the Guy Fawkes mask as a part of activist iconography.

The goal of the Design Activism Summit — still in the planning stages — is to foster collaboration between activists and designers in order to inspire change. At this session, we’ll be brainstorming concepts to cover in workshops, discussions, and lectures at the Summit.
