More Than Meets the Eye: Getting to Know Your DSLR Camera

date Thursday, 2 June 2016 time 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.

👤 Rich Press 🏢 Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library

Past

Although your digital SLR looks complicated, hidden somewhere inside it is a simple, old-fashioned camera. This three-hour workshop will help you find it.

By the end of the workshop, you will be able to focus selectively, get a good exposure, and manipulate the aperture and shutter controls to manage depth-of-field and motion. Most importantly, you will learn how to shoot using just a few straightforward modes, allowing you to focus on your picture-taking without being distracted by all the bells and whistles.

Please bring your digital SLR camera to class, along with the owner’s manual and a flash, if you have them. Mirrorless compact cameras are also welcome.
