Many people are intimidated by the home purchase process and by sleazy real estate agents. This class will be a 30-45 min introduction to the basics of the home purchase process, followed by question and answer. The class will address questions such as: Is owning a home right for you? How I find a neighborhood that fits my lifestyle? What types of loans/down payment/DC home ownership programs are there? What does the settlement process (inspection, appraisal & other contingencies) entail? A lender will also be present to help answer questions about mortgages.

FYI: The teacher of this course is not trying to get money from her students! There is no cost to use a realtor to purchase a home; the commissions are paid by sellers, not buyers. Therefore, the instructors is not trying to teach this course and get money from students. Rather, she thinks that creative people should be educated on the home ownership and investment process and wants to share her knowledge with people that that beautify their neighborhoods and improve their communities.
