Every organization has a unique story. A well-written press release not only tells this story to the media, but also raises brand awareness and engages your supporters and the public.

In this class, you’ll learn how to write an effective press release. We’ll begin with a brief discussion about what press releases are, discover ways to choose a topic and craft your content, and explore methods of distribution and optimization. We’ll close with an examination of how press releases fit into a broader media relations effort and a comprehensive communications strategy.

Notebooks and/or laptops are highly recommended.

This class is presented in partnership with DC Public Library.
