Finding the Tap Dancer Within

date Monday, 27 June 2016 time 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

👤 Niya Kight 🏢 Saint George's Episcopal Church

Past

This class will have you shuffling and ball changing across the dance floor in no time. You will learn the fundamental movements of tap in addition to learning to play with musicality through improvisational exercises.

We will focus on rhythm, musicality, and timing. You will learn tap terminology, focus on clarity of sounds, and challenge yourself with improvisational exercises and intricate rhythms and footwork.

Please bring water and wear comfortable clothes that allow you to dance freely. We’ll be making taps by taping quarters to our shoes, so bring some change and strong tape, and wear hard-soled shoes.
