Identifying and Pitching Stories for Aspiring Freelancers

Gain the confidence to become a freelancer and learn about basic tools that can help you succeed once you decide to take the plunge. We’ll discuss how to write and pitch stories, as well as tips for finding well-paying jobs.
This class will be interactive, so come ready to share your goals, questions, fears, and enthusiasm! Please bring a laptop if possible.
This class has two parts; by signing up, you are committing to attend both sessions.

Mollie Bloudoff-Indelicato is a freelance science/health/environment journalist in Washington, D.C. who speaks Spanish conversationally. Formerly a senior editor at Everyday Health, she’s also reported for outlets such as NPR, Reuters, National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, and The New York Times. This year, she accomplished her life goal of reporting from all seven continents.
