Improv Comedy for Beginners
Fans of Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Steve Carell, Jon Stewart (and more!) might be wondering what it’s like to try improv comedy for themselves. Now you can learn the basics and see what improv comedy is all about. This class will kick off with a few warm-up exercises and you’ll eventually end the class by helping to create a series of quick scenes.

Murphy McHugh has been writing, performing, and living comedy for over ten years, starting with stand-up and then moving to improv and sketch. He discovered his love for improv after auditioning for Georgetown’s improv team and getting fully hooked. In 2008 he started training at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre and The People’s Improv Theater. Murphy currently performs improv at Dojo Comedy and sketch with Brick Penguin, as well as jumping into a variety of other shows.
