Our daily lives are full of decisions and decision making quirks. We have evolved this way over time to more efficiently navigate our world, but some of these quirks are down-right weird. Why do we believe that success drives happiness when in fact the opposite is true? Why does our enjoyment of a newly purchased item quickly fade away? Why is it that green inspires creativity? How can we be more productive by simply glimpsing at words such as “marathon”, “fit”, and “stamina”? Why does recognizing that we lose weight when we walk help us lose even more weight? Why do we eat more at buffets? Why do smaller size plates and tall, narrow glasses make us consume less? Not to mention all of those times that we underestimate the amount of time it takes to get somewhere!

In this course we will take a visual journey into the subtleties of human behavior to gain a deeper insight into why our choices do not always “make sense”. Inspired by the work of psychologists and behavioral economists, this course will highlight major findings through a set of visual cards that we can apply to our every day life such that we may live our lives with an increased awareness and in better alignment with our values, choices, and goals
