A Lifetime in Rosewood: Living in an Institution and Disability Rights
Michael Taylor, an individual with an intellectual and developmental disability, was 12 years old when his mother placed him in Baltimore’s Rosewood Institution. After 30 years there, as well as in an institution in Massachusetts, Michael began living independently, advocating for others with disabilities, and working for Best Buddies. Listen to his story, then discuss disability rights and the history and living conditions of institutions.
