Make It Work! Mending and Fixing Clothes

date Wednesday, 8 January 2014 time 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

👤 Juliana Rincon 🏢 SCRAP DC

Past

Ripped hems, popped buttons, ripped pockets that send loose change plummeting into the depths of your jacket lining — don’t accept these indignities, conquer them! Yes, you can fix your clothes with something other than duct tape.

We’ll teach basic stitches that can be used to repair tears, darn holes, attach buttons, and craft invisible hems. Come with your problematic garments and together we’ll figure out how to undo the damage.

Bring your own sewing kit and clothes in need of mending or pay a $5 materials fee for tools and practice fabric. No prior sewing experience necessary.
