Nature Lab: Chocolate Cicadas

date Thursday, 23 May 2013 time 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

👤 Bill Angelis and Leslie Sluger 🏢 City Blossoms: Marion Street Intergenerational Garden

Past

Artists, designers, thinkers, and business-minded people are looking to nature to solve some of today’s biggest issues. Inspired by the Magicicada — emerging from the ground, zombie-style, just in time for class — we’ll approach two design problems using live and mounted specimens, as well scientific observations. We’ll ask: What would cicada-inspired chocolates look like? And, how can the Magicicada’s anti-bacterial wings help us make better fabric?
