To kick off the 2018 Funk Parade, D.C. Music Download is partnering with Knowledge Commons DC to present a free panel discussion on the politics, history, and culture of funk in D.C. The panel includes prominent members of D.C.’s funk and go-go music scenes, educators, activists, and curators. Panelists will discuss a wide range of topics, including the history of U Street and the significance of funk and go-go in D.C. culture. We invite all people to take part in this insightful lead-up to the fifth annual Funk Parade.
