The Psychogeographic Cinema
In this pop-up program of Radio Transmission Ark, we’ll watch two films about psychogeographic mapping and ethnography, then discuss them.
The first film is Robert Gardner’s “Forest of Bliss.” Gardner filmed in and around Varanasi, India, a holy city that’s the epicenter of funerary culture for the Hindu and Jain religions.
The second is Alan Greenberg’s “The Land of Look Behind.” Greenberg was commissioned by the Marley family to make a documentary about Bob Marley’s funeral in Kingston and St. Ann’s Parish in the summer of 1981.
