Readers and Riders: Metro Poetry Series with Joe Ross
Experience the spoken word in a context often defined by silence. Knowledge Commons DC is hosting readings by local poets on the last car of metro trains at 4 o’clock on all four Sundays in June. Join us for a twofold transportation as we travel through the tunnels of DC and the words of local poets.
Joe Ross invites you on a ride through the ever changing graffiti landscape of the metro. Joe’s exploration of Cool Disco Dan’s work (www.cooldiscodan.com.) has resulted in writings of his own that explore the nuances of graffiti as both an act of naming and memorializing. Our journey north on the red line offers a ephemeral gallery of graffiti art, with Ross posing questions about what it means to tag.
