👤 Saaret Yoseph 🏢 Bloombars

Past

This screening of a a two-part documentary short on the Red line metro and its surrounding graffit offers a rare look at the artistry along the metro tracks. Afterwards, a Q&A with the filmmaker Saaret Yoseph will open discussion to the film’s issues, including identity, art, appropriation and open space economics in gentrifying Northeast D.C., and D.C. at-large.

To learn more, watch “Who is Ju?”, one of the well known artists and taggers on the streatch of the Red line north of downtown. Since it’s lunch time, bring some snacks to share as we enjoy the film.

Bloombars survives on community support, and suggests a donation of $10 for events. However, Knowledge Commons DC classes are free, and we want you to know that this donation is entirely optional.
