Creativity isn’t what you think. It’s science-y, studied and, in many ways, learned. What traits do creative people have? Where do they come from? Darwin, drugs, or development? How does that big ol’ sexy brain of yours make cancer cures, cat memes, and recipes for bacon? Well, let’s get some learnin’ done and leave doing something with that new hot knowledge.

Nobelists, presidents, artists, and scientists: Creative individuals exhibit very specific, testable traits. The question is really, “Is there a logic to creativity?” We have found that the answer is resoundingly “Yes, Mr. Nerd, there is.” And you can use this stuff to build and enhance your creative communities.

In part three of a KCDC exclusive lecture series, Eric will touch on the basics of construal level theory and how it affects creative decisionmaking, the intersecting lives of overlapping creators Einstein and Picasso, and other fun science-y and historiometric takes on what was previously relegated to the muses. Don’t worry, Eric has a Ph.D. in some esoteric science field, so you know you can trust him ;)

We’ll conclude by discussing how you can use these ideas to build your creative communities, so you can walk out and actually DO something with what you’ve learned.
