Screenwriting: From Pipedream to the Big Screen
Most of us love watching movies: Why not learn the fundamentals of writing one?
This class will focus on how a screenplay is written: format, software, choice of genre, popular structures, industry expectations, marketability, etc. We’ll also cover the basics of story, plot, and character development, viewing movie clips as we go.

Elijah Mendoza is an active writer who’s published in a variety of journals and other outlets. Before his recent move to the District, Elijah taught English at a community college in Texas, and at Baylor University and Texas Christian University. His MFA from the University of California, Riverside, focused on poetry and screenwriting.
