Ever since the Snowden news broke in 2013, issues of individual online privacy and security have attracted unprecedented attention. Technical security topics are often presented as black and white: Either an individual is totally vulnerable and clueless, or he/she is a super-secure, badass hacker. The reality is that online security is a gray area and a process with many small steps.

This class will cover some basic techniques of online security. We will provide advice for how to handle your passwords and tips for more secure browsing. You do not need to bring a laptop.
