Shindigs, Soirees, and Fiestas
Go behind the scenes of successful D.C. shindigs with event planners Lindz Routt and Joanna Klatzman. With them, you’ll learn to keep your cool when dealing with big venues, be stellar at wedding prep, handle delicate issues of etiquette, and apply the DIY ethos to event planning. They’ll also explain some all-important business basics.
Lindz and Joanna will tell you how they got into the events/wedding biz, and hand over the hard-won tips and tricks they wish they’d had when they started out. You’ll leave the class a more confident host!

Joanna Klatzman built her love of events through coaching the George Washington University fencing team, positions with multi-cultural organizations and the DC Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, and travel around the globe. Her passions have led her to planning weddings, black-tie galas, cultural events, stage performances, and fundraisers, all reflecting her personal style.
Lindz Routt is an event coordinator who’s worked with local hotels, non-profits, arts organizations, and individuals. A volunteer for Art Whino, Submerge, ArtJamz, Artomatic, Emerge, and other organizations, she is dedicated to the advancement of the arts in the District.
