Basic Sign Language for Service Industry Workers

date Thursday, 9 July 2015 time 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

👤 M.A. Students at Gallaudet 🏢 &pizza (H St. NE)

Past

The class will cover the basics of understanding simple requests in American Sign Language, as well as how to answer simple questions at work and in everyday life. We’ll go over some common foods and drinks, as well as simple phrases and basic small talk. We’ll also review the alphabet in ASL.

Please note that the teachers of the class are deaf/hard-of-hearing, so there will be very little verbal communication. (It’s like when foreign language teachers refuse to use English in class and you end up learning more than you ever imagined was possible!)

Pizza and beverages will be generously provided by &pizza!

This class is presented in partnership with &pizza.
