“Oop! The Moment! Once you miss it, it is gone forever,” said Henri Cartier-Bresson, a master of street photography. In this class, you’ll learn skills and concepts that will help you sharpen your photographic instincts — and not miss another Moment.

First, we’ll discuss the nature and practice of street photography, thinking about what makes this different from other types of practice. Then, we’ll go on a photo walk. The instructor will identify potential subjects and explain good techniques for the conditions the group encounters.

Bring a camera. If you have a DSLR, try to bring a normal (medium) or wide-angle lens.

This class is presented in partnership with Exposed DC.
