Tea: An Intercultural Introduction
Tea, though one of the world’s most popular beverages, is an underdog in the coffee-driven United States. Learn the techniques for preparing various types of tea; the difference between Chinese, Japanese and British tea; and how tea is harvested and made. You’ll leave the class a proper tea connoisseur (who’s ready to kick that coffee/soda habit). Supplies will cost $3.

Erika Rydberg, a D.C. transplant from the northernly lands of Boston, got involved with Knowledge Commons DC after an awesome experience in a Brookline, Mass., community skillshare during her college days. By day she works at a library and by night she can be found performing poetry, listening to music, or cooking copious amounts of vegetarian food.
Valerie VanAntwerp, a private tutor teaching Chinese language, literature and geography, recently moved to D.C. from Hong Kong. She likes traveling, drinking tea, learning about new cultures, and cooking.
