Too Much Information: Intelligence Archives After Government Collapse
How are the archives of intelligence services within authoritarian regimes handled after a structural crisis or change? Are they opened up after a transition to democracy? (And if so, how open are they, really?) Are the records destroyed? We’ll examine the state of intelligence archives before and after governmental collapse in East Germany, the Soviet Union, apartheid South Africa, Iraq, and Libya.
