All Samples Cleared!
This class will explore the history of music sampling, tracing who sampled whom, when, why, and (inevitably) the legal battles that have come out of it all. Come prepared to listen to and compare lots of tunes and learn about those immediately recognizable melodies that only a few people know the true history of.
(In case you were wondering, “All Samples Cleared!” is the name of a Biz Markie album from 1993. Or maybe you already knew that…)
