Part lecture, part hands-on practice, this class will teach you basic first aid and how to respond to the minor and major medical situations you may encounter in the woods. From how to handle blisters to survival techniques, this class will prepare you for your wilderness adventures. Topics covered will include:
- Common wilderness medical issues (blisters, burns, breaks, bites, etc…)
- Improvised splinting and stretcher-making
- Massive bleeding control
- Simple airway management
- Wound management
- Medical emergency management
- Survival and rescue techniques
