Write What You Know (You!)
Everyone has a story to tell, and people write the most evocatively and gracefully when they write about themselves.
This will foremost be a class on writing compelling personal essays. We’ll share killer essays (and narrative songs, film clips, etc.) and discuss what makes them work. We’ll go over common techniques and pitfalls.
Then, we’ll write and workshop the opening anecdotes of short essays on the theme “home.”
