Harper Macaw is a chocolate factory in D.C. whose vision focuses on sustainability and direct trade. Harper Macaw restores and protects deforested or vulnerable rainforests in northeast Brazil through partnerships with Instituto UiraçuAmerican Bird Conservancy and Rainforest Trust. They also reinvest in the expansion of Reserva Serra Bonita, a cutting-edge rainforest conservation initiative. On this Behind the Scenes tour, students will get to check out the factory after close and find out what goes into making chocolate from bean to bar, and get a taste of some of Harper Macaw’s chocolate!

Materials fee for this class is $10. Please bring cash. (We waive fees when needed.)
