When most Americans think of Egyptian dance, the only thing that comes to mind is belly dance, but the nation is home to a wide range of folk dance forms and traditions. In this class, you’ll learn a few basic moves from several different styles of Egyptian folk dance, along with some cultural context for the dances.

We’ll be learning steps from the following dances: Saidi, Nubian, Ghawazee, and Suez Canal

Please bring water and wear comfortable clothes that allow for movement. Wear sneakers or soft-soled shoes.
